A top priority of this campaign is to amplify youth voice. This week, Michael met with four groups of students in the summer program at Will C. Wood Middle School. They talked about how decisions are typically made at the district, and how those decisions affect their experiences at school.
During these discussions, students shared what they loved most about their schools, what they would like to see more of, and the struggles they have had on campus and in their neighborhood. After the meetings, students have continued to contact Michael with their thoughts and ideas on how to improve their schools. These students have great insight and their ideas will be discussed throughout this campaign and beyond.
